Math problem?

A ski resort charges $45 for an all day lift pass and $40 per day for renting boots and a snow board. At a store, you can buy boots and a snowboard for $360. How many times must you go snowboarding at the ski resort for the cost of buying your own boots and snowboard to be less than renting them.

Math problem?
$45 = price of lift (this cost would apply wether or not you owned or rented your equipment)

$40 = boot and board rental

$360 = boot and board cost

Let x = the number of days you went skiing and rented the equipment

($40)(x) = $360 DIVIDE both sides by $40

x = 360/40

x = 9 days the costs would be equal

on the 10 day it would be less ANSWER
Reply:8 days

here is the equation

45+40n=360

-40= - 40 subtract 40 from each side

45n=320 divide each side by 45

n=8

Because:

45 divided by 45 cancels out and you are only left with n.

then 320 divided by 45 is 8.
Reply:(45+40)x%26gt;45x+360

x%26gt;9

over 9 days
Reply:you would have to go 10 days to make a profit, the lift pass has nothing to do with the equation because you have to buy one regardless of you owning the equiptment or renting the equiptment.
Reply:The lift pass is needed for both rentals and baught boots and snowboard. So that information is useledd. So basically the question is asking you how many days to you have to snowboard to reach 360$ with rentals. So 360/40 = 9. You need 9 days to break even. you need 10 for it to cost less.
