Finish or add to the story: Best addendum wins 10 points?

I walked slowly down Shagbark Road on the moon lit night of December 31. The mountain road was single laned and if you followed it all the way up you would end up at the ski lodge where New Years Eve celebrations where in full swing, but I was alone.

There are no street lights here so the only guide is the bright silver moon overhead, and the soft crush of my boots on ice and snow that powders the road. I walk alone.

I stopped by Rascals, the local pub, to warm myself with a few shots before the final leg home. Even drinking is tough on a night like this - lots of pretty people, couples cuddling and whispering in each others ears - is was sweet, and yet harsh.

As I walked back in the dark, I notice myself casting shadows on the snow below me. The moon was now behind me so my shadow was casting forward. Yet now I notice that my shadow is not alone on the snow. I catch the faint fragrance of perfume;sweet and luxuriant hanging in the air.I slowly turn my eyes seeking its source..

and I see her, one of the ladies that was at the bar. I vaguely remember seeing her sitting alone, looking out of place. I had wanted to go over and say hi but she had repeatedly and deliberately avoided my gaze and I had lost my nerve.

As I turned my eye on her she seemed to slow down and hang back. A light snow had just started to fall and I could see that she had on only a light jacket.

Thinking, its now or never, I gathered my nerves in a bundle as I slowed my walk to a stop and smiled at her approaching figure. I introduced myself quickly telling her I had also just left the bar and asked her if I could give her a ride somewhere. As soon as the words were out of my mouth I felt foolish. Why would this lovely girl accept a ride from a total stranger she had not even talked to in the bar! She gave me a long assessing look seeming to be almost looking through me and then smiled. Her smile was as blinding as the newly fallen snow and it stopped me in my tracks. "I'd love a ride home" she said. I escorted her to my car again noting the intoxicating fragrance of her perfume..............
Reply:a rag cover my face. I try to fight but the booze, the cold and the ether are combining to over come me. My vision blurs and my body relaxes, its no use.

As my head begins to throb, I start to recall the events from last night. My eyes widen in fear as I take in unfimiliar surrondings. I'm lying naked on a cold wooden floor, my clothes heaped in a corner. I feel really bad and not just hung over style head ache, I mean like something real bad happened. I look around the room and see that it is an old wood shed. I see my wallet lying too my left and pick it up. I check it to see if it still has everything in it. The photo of my girlfriend, the ticket for my drycleaning and my credit cards. Good its all there. Except, wait there's $10 in here, I spent all my money in the Bar so where did this come from? I start to freak out and look over my left shoulder, there it is the answer to my question. Lying there, center stage on the floor......a used condom, no wonder my *** hurts.
Reply:Aha...a shot at a different ending.

As I turn I see nothing but darkness and cold. Yet the fragrance lingers. I walk along and still smell it. I assume it is a flower, yet what would bloom in this weather? As I walk further the fragrans was becoming stronger. I turned again and saw her. She looked as if the stars were shining just for her. She called my name and grabbed me in such a hug that I had to catch my breath. Tears were streaming down her face. She held me at arms length and scanned me over and with tears and gasps from running said "My dear brother you are fresh home from the war, you did not think I would have it not to be with you on New Years." "Let's go back at Rascals I have a suprise for you. Mary Beth is waiting there for you. The bartender said we had just missed you. We must hurry, you have to be there before the clock strikes twelve o'clock. Mary Beth has the answer to the question you asked her before you left and she said she absolutely must give it to you as the New Year arrives." Alda
