K2 Zepellin + Ride Ex a good combo?

I recently switched to boarding after being a skier for 10 years, and seeing as I can't ever see myself picking up a pair of skis again I've decided to go get some new gear this weekend.

I'm currently eying a K2 Zepellin board with Ride Ex bindings, does anyone have any experience with these? I've only done two trips to the snow as a boarder so I'm still very much a beginner, would this gear be too fast or too advanced for a level 5? I’ll be using it mostly for free-riding at first, but I'd prefer to get something that'll last me a while.

While I'm at it, any advice on K2 T1 Boa boots would be appreciated as well. They look pretty slick, but I won't be making any decision there until I've tried on a few different brands.

K2 Zepellin + Ride Ex a good combo?
Dont get the zeplin

Get the K2 WWW its so so nasty

DO NOT get BOA boots, although a cool design they arent good at all. Get boots with laces..

Ride Ex bindings are good. BUT if going with K2 I would look at the K2 auto bindings. THEY are sick sick sick.%26gt; If you got the weapon witht the k2 auto bindings. You would have to let me try it out
Reply:The K2 Zepplin is a very good All mountain board but as you are a begineer rider it would certainly be too fast and advanced for you at this stage. If you are after a K2 you should look more at there entry level and intermediate all mountain boards such as the Select, Illusion and Eldorado.

Good choice with the bindings though Ride bindings are excellent quality, i would rate them as the best make for bindings currently.

As for the boots you have the right idea to try on a few different brands of boot. As however slick the K2 boots look if they are not a good fit for your shape of foot they wont be any good for you. Some good boot brands as well as K2 are Northwave, Thirty Two, Vans, DC, Salomon. I would recommend trying boots made by all these brands if you can. They wont all be a good fit for your feet as some are better for wider foot shapes some narrower etc, but they are all quality boot brands and are worth checking out. Good luck with the riding.
Reply:The K2 Zepplin is a directional board with 3/4 setback just like my Ride Decade (both made by same company). If you are looking for an all mountain board (which you obviously are) this is one of the very best out there - especially for the money - the Ride board is acually less. If other people are suggesting the WWW, they are talking about a freestyle board which is a different animal.

The Ride EX binding are a great binding for the price - I don't think you can get that much binding at that price anywhere else. They are also very strong and will outlast other brands. I have seen the K2 Cinch binding wear out in less than two seasons.

Sorry, don't know about those boots.

Good Luck
