Is Lamar a good snowboarding brand for beginers?

I went up to Bogus (ski resort in Boise Idaho) with my school this year for the first time. I became addicted to snowboarding. So I saved up my money and Bought a Lamar snowboard for 100 dollars. It was left over from last season, thats why I got so cheep. Is lamar a good brand? The bindings and boots are Lamar also. The bindings arent so great. I thinks because they are a little small.

Lamar boards are entry level at best, but should last you a couple of seasons if you don't abuse it in the park - they don't hold up to a lot of flexing and abuse to the edges.

The good news is that they are usually very soft boards and should be a decent board to learn on and improve with. If the boots fit well then they are OK as well.

The bindings are usually plastic buckles that won't last long, but they should last a season. Next year upgrade to some Ride EX bindings and the year after get some better boots. By then you will know what kind of riding you want to do and what kind of boards to look at.

Good Luck
Reply:Lamar is an alright board to start off with...if you just started then you dont want to get an expensive board right away so ya lamar is a good brand to start off with...i would deff get some better bindings next year though...after a couple seasons under your belt you should be able to tell what kind of board to get next....hope i helped..good luck
