Cross country skiing....?

I am contemplating getting into cross country skiing, primarily for exercise. I've never done it before. How much should a beginner set of skis (for 6' tall adult), boots and other gear cost? I plan to stick to the trails.

You will be surprised at how inexpensive the gear is (although I would say it's a little more expensive tha $100 or $150). Probably around $300 - $400 to get skis, bindings, boots, and poles.
Reply:Stores often have package deals, sometimes as low as $100. $150 is not bad. Even the basic stuff is pretty good for casual use. Make sure the boots are very comfortable and not too tight (tight prevents good circulation and makes for cold feet!)
